A client in the Philippines purchased 108 metric tons of PPGI steel coils, which will primarily be used for subsequent roll forming to produce corrugated color-coated steel sheets for construction. Since the steel coils must undergo further processing steps—including uncoiling, leveling, shearing, and roll forming—the client not only focused on the quality of the surface coating but also confirmed with us that the steel’s thickness, coating, and processability met the requirements for subsequent production.
Based in the Philippines, this client is a medium-sized building materials company that integrates the procurement of color-coated steel coils, corrugated sheet forming, and the sale of roofing systems. Its products primarily serve the roofing markets for industrial plants, commercial buildings, warehousing and logistics facilities, and residential structures in the Philippines and neighboring countries.

Before finalizing the contract with the customer, the customer requested a thorough understanding of product quality prior to the shipment of large batches. We therefore communicated with the customer to arrange for samples to be taken from the production line during the formal production process and mailed to the customer in advance for testing. The customer agreed to this method of product quality inspection.

Paint film thickness testing
As of now, the customer has received the samples and conducted testing on them. The account manager in the Philippines reported: “They tested the zinc coating, film thickness, color difference, and T-bend, and all the data met the requirements. They are very much looking forward to receiving our 108 tons of color-coated steel coils.”
